Haikou-Cyprus-Rome Cargo Route Launched on Sept. 8, 2025.

On September 8, a B767 all-cargo aircraft carrying approximately 37 tons of goods took off from the Haikou Meilan International Airport. After a stopover at the Larnaca Airport in Cyprus, it flew to the Rome Fiumicino Airport in Italy, marking the end of the inaugural flight of the Haikou-Cyprus-Rome cargo route. Expanding air logistics channels between the Hainan Free Trade Port and Eurasia, the route further improves the efficiency of cargo distribution between the Hainan Free Trade Port and major European cities.

The weekly Haikou-Cyprus-Rome cargo route is operated by Cyprus-based Euroavia, using a B767 all-cargo aircraft. Outbound cargo primarily consists of cross-border e-commerce goods.

Since the beginning of this year, Haikou Meilan International Airport has established a total of four international cargo routes: Haikou-Paris, Tbilisi-Haikou-Milan, Haikou-Tbilisi, and Haikou-Cyprus-Rome. Currently linking five cargo destinations, the routes form the foundation of a nascent international cargo network centered on Haikou and covering Europe, Western Asia, and other regions.
