Hainanese Poet Jiang Fei Takes Home Prestigious Lu Xun Literary Prize
On the evening of August 28, the 9th Lu Xun Literary Prize ceremony took place in Shanghai. Hainan-based poet Jiang Fei won the poetry award for his collection The Earth Grows All Night for All Creation. He is only the second writer from Hainan to receive this honor—following Han Shaogong—and the province's first to win in the poetry category.

Milestone in Hainan: Specially Approved Rare Disease Drug Raxone Reaches 100 Patients
On August 28, a patient from Anhui province suffering from Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON) wrapped up treatment with the specially approved drug Raxone (idebenone 150mg). The treatment took place at Ruijin Hainan Hospital, located within the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone. With this latest case, the groundbreaking medication has now benefited 100 LHON patients just seven months after its regional debut.

Hainan Daily Press Group, Star Media Group expand FTP cooperation
The two sides first reached a preliminary cooperation agreement in November 2025. Since then, Hainan International Media Center (HIMC), through its ASEAN liaison center, has worked with Star Media Group on the interview series “New Land & Sea Trade Opportunities: Investing in the Hainan FTP.” The five episodes, each about six minutes long, introduce policies and investment opportunities in the Hainan FTP to ASEAN and international investors.
