Feeling the new vitality of the yacht economy and the innovative achievements of the high-end leisure industry, the "Hainan's Free Trade Momentum” International Communications Interview Team visited the Sanya International Yacht Center and the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) Sanya International Boat Show on the afternoon of April 15th.

With ten of the world's top yacht brands making an appearance, this year’s Boat Show attracted 62 companies from twenty some odd countries and regions. Showcasing 150 yachts, highlight exhibits include the new TY560, Delphia Electric Yacht, and Diamond P55.

China Daily reporter Li Xin focused on Sanya's inherent advantages in accelerating the development of the yacht industry. When interviewed, Lin Mingkun (president of the Sanya Cruise and Yacht Association) said: “Sanya’s unique advantages in terms of climate and water resources, as well as her connection both to Southeast Asian countries and China's southeastern coastal provinces means that our local yacht industry has successfully formed a complete industrial chain. As our tourism industry has expanded to incorporate more and newer forms of entertainment, boating has started to become popular among ordinary consumers.”

At the Boat Show, members of the media showed interest in things such as new product launches, the yacht economy, and the Free Trade Port’s zero tariff policies. He Zhuoyan (host of Sichuan International Communications Center) wrote: "Making it a global hub for maritime luxury goods, the Sanya International Yacht Center has achieved seamless customs clearance and year-round exhibitions.”

Displaying British-made yachts and models, the results of scientific and technological innovation in maritime industries, and interactive experience areas for both the Volvo Ocean Race and Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, the UK—as national guest of honor at this year’s CICPE—had a large cultural pavilion where the interview team were immersed in a veritable feast of British goods and culture.
