Young people are the most vigorous and enterprising… A nation will be full of hope and have a great tomorrow when its younger generations have ideals, ability, and a strong sense of responsibility.

"The Power of Youth and Dreams," a series co-created by Hinews and Hainan International Media Center, puts the spotlight on ten Chinese and foreign young people who have pursued their aspirations and forged shining stories rooted in openness and innovation during their many years in Hainan and China. Through their actions, they demonstrate their shouldering of social responsibility, becoming a bridge for intercultural exchanges. Their stories motivate others to realize their dreams in China and contribute their efforts to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Alex, a young Russian man, has been living in China for nearly eight years. On campus, he is a university Russian language teacher dedicated to educating and fostering Sino-Russian cultural exchange. Off campus, he takes on the role of a lone rider, traveling solo with his motorcycle across Hainan and other provinces (including, Guangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Hunan), and other provinces.

Today, Alex has garnered over 40,000 followers on China's YouTube-like Bilibili.com, a widely-loved platform by Chinese youth. For many viewers, Alex's videos of riding his motorcycle along Hainan's coastal highways have become their virtual "digital comfort food." For Alex, however, motorcycle travel is a long-standing passion and he dreams of one day riding his motorcycle back to his hometown in Russia.

Alex shares, "Creating videos is not about achieving personal goals like wealth or fame. I simply enjoy it and hope to introduce Hainan to more people."
