Called the "nation's beach," Haitang Bay in Hainan Province's Sanya City has undergone a stunning metamorphosis in the past 75 years from a sleepy fishing village to an internationally renowned travel destination.
Amid the waves of the nation's development, Haitang Bay has leveraged its unique natural and cultural assets, continually advancing and transforming to become a shining star of the Hainan Free Trade Port's construction.
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Hainan Daily and HIMC are jointly releasing "The Story of Haitang Bay", special episodes of the short video series Hainan Mirror. Combined with old photos and daring aerial footage, this story vividly captures the enormous changes and direction of development of this dynamic coastline.
The first episode tells the story of a "mermaid" who lives and works in Haitang Bay from a first-person perspective. Check out the video and hear the romantic musings of Sanya's own "little mermaid."
