Incomplete statistics provided at a press conference held by the Hainan Province Emergency Command Center on the evening of September 7 show that SuperTyphoon Yagi affected a total of 526,100 people in all 19 of Hainan’s cities and counties. Preliminary estimates show that the economic losses caused by this typhoon will far exceed those of 2014’s SuperTyphoon Rammasun.
