As of 7 AM on Sept. 6, the center of super typhoon Yagi was located around 170 km. east of Wenchang City (19.2 degrees north latitude, 112.4 degrees east longitude), with level 17 and above wind speeds (68 m/s, about 245 km/h). The typhoon is expected to continue moving northwest at a speed of around 15 km/h, with no major change in intensity. Yagi is predicted to make landfall in the coastal region between Qionghai, Hainan and Zhanjiang, Guangdong in the afternoon or evening of the 6th. The typhoon is likely to land as a super typhoon with level 17 or above wind speeds (60-68 m/s), with most forecasts calling for landfall along the coast between Wenchang, Hainan and Xuwen, Guangdong. The typhoon will then move into the Beibu Gulf region in the early morning of the 7th.

Level 7 winds (affecting an area of around 350 km), have already begun to reach Lingao, Danzhou, Baisha, Ledong, Dongfang, and Sanya. The entire island of Hainan is predicted to be impacted by 13:00 on the 6th, with Level 7 winds completely leaving the province by 13:00 on the 7th.
Level 10 winds (affecting an area of around 140 km) will reach Wenchang at 09:00 on the 6th, and the northeastern area of Hainan Island (Haikou, Wenchang, Qionghai, Tunchang, Ding'an, Chengmai, and Lingao) will be impacted at 14:00 on the 6th, with Level 7 winds completely leaving the province by 14:00 on the 6th.
Level 12 winds (affecting an area of around 80 km) will reach Wenchang at 11:00 on the 6th, and the northeastern area of Hainan Island (Haikou, Wenchang, Qionghai, Ding'an, and Chengmai) will be impacted at 14:00 on the 6th, with Level 12 winds completely leaving the province by 03:00 on the 7th.
