Puig Group, a Spanish fragrance company with beauty brands including Penhaligon’s, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Christian Louboutin, and Byredo, has recently confirmed participation in the 4^th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), which is scheduled to be held in Haikou from April 13^th to 18^th, the capital of south China’s Hainan Province.

The Puig Group was founded in 1914, focusing on perfumes. In Dec. 2021, Puig took the lead in bringing boutiques for two major brands, Penhaligon’s and L'Artisan Parfumeur, to the CDF Sanya International Duty Free City. This marked the first foray into the Asian retail market for L'Artisan Parfumeur. In Jan. 2022, Christian Louboutin also arrived at Sanya International Duty Free City, and in Dec. 2023, a Byredo fragrance boutique was launched in Hainan.

Kaatje Noens, executive vice president of global travel retail at Puig said: “Hainan has become an important travel retail location for brands looking to attract and retain Chinese consumers. Bringing Penhaligon’s to Sanya is an important step in our ambitious plans for this iconic brand and a springboard for growth in China."

The Puig Group is currently working to increase Chinese market exposure. Despite the Asian market currently accounting for only 10% of the group’s total performance, Puig was still able to achieve a substantial 36% increase in the Chinese market in 2022. Puig’s mid-term development plan outlines sales in excess of 4.5 billion euros, with sales on the Chinese market to account for 25% of global sales by 2025.
