Taxi and Ride-Hailing Car Fares in Haikou and Sanya

Taxi fares are largely calculated by distance.

Haikou

·10 yuan for the first 3 kilometers and 2 yuan for each additional kilometer  

·Additional night surcharge of 20% per kilometer for journeys between 22:00 and 05:59 the following day

·0.5 yuan/minute waiting fee, which begins accruing 3 minutes after the taxi has arrived at the designated pickup spot

·0.5yuan/minute fee for low-speed travel

·Additional fees for intercity travel where the driver returns to Haikou without passengers

Sanya

·Type-I taxis: 11 yuan for the first 2.5 kilometers and 2.4 yuan for each additional kilometer 

·Type-II taxis: 10 yuan for the first 2.5 kilometers and 2.2 yuan for each additional kilometer

·An extra charge of 50% per kilometer for journeys further than 10 km

·An extra 20% per kilometer accrues 5 minutes after the taxi has arrived at the designated pickup spot or after more than 5 minutes of low-speed travel

·Additional night surcharge of 20% per kilometer for journeys between 23:00 and 05:59 the following day

·An extra 1 yuan per trip in fuel surcharges for Type-II taxis

Fares for ride-hailing cars are calculated by distance, current demand (surge fees), weather conditions, and whether it is a public holiday.
