On April 10th, at the opening ceremony of the third China International Consumer Products Expo in Haikou, TMall Global, China’s leading import retail platform, was on hand to take part for the third consecutive year.

In Hall 1 of this year’s Hainan Expo, they have set up a 500m² “new discoveries” section where more than 500 trendy new products (with categories including health, makeup, personal care, pets, and home furnishings) from around the world will be unveiled together. For example, some of the products on offer include German nutritional supplement brand VIKpro’s first ever launch of a new line of dietary supplements, the worldwide release of Japanese cosmetics brand FANCL’s new facial masks by Branchic, Swedish organic skincare brand L:a Bruket, the century-old Germany organic skincare brand Weleda, the Australian pet care brand PAW, the Belgian noise-canceling headphone brand Loop, and the Spanish makeup brand Beauté Mediterranea.

Particularly of note is that, TMall Global, who just hosted a Hangzhou Spring Cycling Event, are also planning on launching an “urban cycling” plan for Hainan as this form of low-carbon lifestyle is increasingly popular among young people. Including an immersive VR cycling area, professional rider info session, imported equipment, and awards, this event—which will take place during the Expo—will be open to the public.

At the same time, TMall Global will be publishing some of their insights on new import trends and overseas shopping services. For the beauty and cosmetics industry, they will—in conjunction with CAIQ (Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine)—announce a new definition of pure cosmetics. For senior citizens interested in imported products, an online “Translation Post” will be launched to make it easier for them to read and use imported goods, and improve their experience in shopping for goods from overseas.

Since the first CICPE was held in Haikou in May 2021, TMall Global has increasingly become the preferred platform for international brands to explore the Chinese market. At the same time, the Hainan Free Trade Port is also becoming one of their core service providers. TMall Global’s general manager said that, “We will take advantage of the FTP’s preferential policies, its ever-improving international shipping and logistics network, and increasingly improved infrastructure. Utilizing the platform of the Expo, we intend to introduce domestic consumers to more new products and trends from around the world."
