Bringing 1,000 cross-border e-commerce platforms and service providers together with top  enterprises, and leading national industrial parks and pilot zones, the 2022 Hainan International Electric Commerce Expo and Hainan International Cross-border E-commerce Trade Exhibition (HIECE)—the first large-scale exhibition of Hainan's cross-border industry—opened at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center on December 29 in the province's capital city of Haikou.

With three major venues and six major exhibition areas, this year's HIECE boasts a total exhibition area of over 30,000m². Bringing together rapid new developments in the worldwide e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce ecological chain and covering platforms, service providers, logistics, and brand marketing, HIECE will also hold more than 20 forum activities to share the latest industry trends.

One of the much talked about highlights of the expo is the presence of source factories from high-quality industrial belts in places ranging from Hainan and the Pearl River Delta up to Shandong. For many companies, this year's HIECE was their Hainan debut and they not only brought their latest products for display, but also prepared popular imported consumer goods so as to have in-depth cooperative talks with on-site commercial purchasers.

Peng Lihui, Secretary General of China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC), explained that the development of cross-border e-commerce requires not only government policies, but also institutional innovations. As the ecological system is gradually improved, the global supply chain will be concentrated and developed, and the overall development goal of building an e-commerce global distribution center shall be gradually realized.

Ai Mingyue, Deputy Director of Haikou Municipal Bureau of Commerce,said that his bureau will use the exhibition as a way of introducing Hainan Free Trade Port investment promotion policies, and will organize for interested enterprises to visit industrial parks such as Haikou Jiangdong New Area and the Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone.
