Wuzhishan City has launched 3 new rainforest experience routes, presenting the main scenic attractions of Wuzhishan in one map, and making it convenient for travelers to discover the beauty of Wuzhishan.

Route One - One Day Tour

Route One is designed as a one-day tour. At the beginning of the day, hike up to the source of the Changhua River and enjoy the splendid rainforest views on the many mountain paths. Maona Village is a great place to check out the local cuisine, and enjoy dishes such as Five-Foot Pork, 3 Color Rice, and free-range chicken. In the afternoon, why not go on a thrilling white-water rafting adventure down the 3.8 km. long Red Canyon watercourse?

Route Two - Culture Tour

The second route is for those who have a bit more time to spend in Wuzhishan. On the first day, visit the Hainan Provincial Museum of Ethnology to learn about the historic culture of the Li and Miao people, and then head to the historic Former site of the Hainan Li and Miao Autonomous Prefecture People's Government Office Building and Former Qiongzhou University in the old town area. On the second day, go hiking in the Shuiman River Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area, where you’ll have sweeping views of the whole Wuzhishan area. The last stop, the Yahu Rice Terraces, is an incredible sight - 160 separate rice paddy terraces carved into the hillside, layer upon layer all sparking in the golden light of the slowly setting sun. This is a sight not to be missed!

Route 3 - Deep Experience Tour

The third route is made for visitors who want to enjoy the slow pace of life together with the people of Wuzhishan. In addition to the Yahu Rice Terraces, the museum, the night market along the Nansheng River, and the Red Canyon Cultural Tourism Area, you should also check out Shuiman Township. In the morning, the Lidong Cultural Park is the perfect place to fully experience the majestic culture of the Li. Climb up the 639-steps to enjoy a bird's-eye view of the mountains from Ancestor Worship Square and show your respect for the revered ancestral culture of the Li People. Afterwards, enjoy a Wuzhishan-style afternoon tea in Shuiman Township. With its amber color and milky fragrance, Wuzhishan black tea will enchant your palate and bewitch your senses. You won’t be able to leave without buying some to enjoy at home!
