Lin'gao County (pop. 456,000) is located in the northwest of Hainan Province, with a land area of 1,317km², and sea area of 675.66km². The coastline stretches over 114 km, and is dotted with 11 natural harbors. Lin'gao's "Lilimei" Fisherman's ditty and puppetry are listed as China's national Intangible Cultural Heritage.
