On the evening of October 17, the Hainan Provincial Delegation attending the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) visited the Beijing Exhibition Center to view the "Forging Ahead in the New Era" Exhibition which showcases China's achievements over the past decade. The visit was led by the head of the Hainan Delegation, Shen Xiaoming, and the deputy head of the Delegation, Feng Fei.

The Hainan delegation visited the exhibition entrance gallery, the central comprehensive exhibition area and the local exhibition areas in turn, getting a sense of the great achievements and changes of the Party and the country in the past ten years of the new era.

In the central comprehensive exhibition area, the delegates were very excited to see the Hainan-themed display as they recalled General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection in Hainan and revisited the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important speeches and instructions on Hainan's work. The exhibits include "General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Maona Village in Shuiman Township, Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province", "General Secretary Xi Jinping awarded the 'July 1 Medal' to Wang Shumao", "The first ship registration and issuance certificate of Hainan Free Trade Port", "Legislative Research on Hainan Free Trade Port", "Establishment of the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park", "Long March 5 carrier rocket launch", "Hainan Province Qiongzhong women's football team win the championship" and "Hainan migrant workers received residence permits." These were just some of the Hainan-specific achievements and milestone events laid out in the central comprehensive exhibition area.

In the Hainan exhibition area, the delegates had the chance to experience the major breakthroughs made by Hainan in comprehensively deepening reform and opening up and economic and social development in the past ten years of the new era through immersive experiences and various exhibits, including pictures, videos, objects, models and sand tables. The delegates said that this visit to the exhibition has further strengthened their confidence and determination to forge ahead on a new journey and with the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
