About the Temple of the Five Lords

Called “the first building in Hainan, the Temple of the Five Lords is also known as the Temple of the Five Officials. It was first built in 1889 in memory of five exiled officials who have made great contributions to the cultural and economical development of Hainan during the Tang and Song Dynasties. The five officials commemorated in the temple are the Tang chancellor Li Deyu and the four Song ministers Li Gang, Li Guang, Zhao Ding, and Hu Quan.
