At 12:00 on March 5, Hainan Province reported 0 new confirmed case of COVID-19, 0 new severe case,1 new death and 3 new discharged cases. 

As of 12:00 on March 5, Hainan Province have reported a total of 168 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1 severe case, 6 deaths, and 158 discharged patients. Of the confirmed cases, 39 cases were in Haikou, 54 cases in Sanya, 15 cases in Danzhou, 3 cases in Wenchang, 6 cases in Qionghai, 13 cases in Wanning, and 3 cases in Dongfang. There were 9 cases in Chengmai County, 6 cases in Lingao County, 7 cases in Changjiang County, 4 cases in Lingshui County, 3 cases in Ding'an County, 3 cases in Baoting County, 2 cases in Ledong County, and 1 case in Qiongzhong County.

As of 12:00 on March 5, 6,290 close contacts have been traced, 6012 medical observations have been lifted, and 278 are still receiving centralized medical observations.

One new death case caused by COVID-19 in Hainan

Case No. 101, female, 61 years old, came to Hainan from Wuhan, and arrived in Hainan on January 19, 2020. She arrived in Dongfang City on January 20, and stayed in Dongfanghaijun Community, Basuo Town, Dongfang City. On January 24, symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, dyspnea, and chest tightness occurred. On January 29, she was transferred to the People's Hospital of Dongfang City for treatment. On February 9, cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest occurred. After active rescue, the autonomous heartbeat breathing was successfully restored. The expert group of the General Hospital of the PLA Hainan Hospital and the Sanya Central Hospital organized daily consultations for this case. A total of more than 200 medical staff participated in the treatment and rescue. However, due to the worsening of her condition, cardiac arrest occurred again at 5:30 am on March 5th, and blood pressure was zero. The rescue was not active after 4 hours, and the doctor declared clinical death at 9:20 am on March 5th.
