Under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and Hainan Provincial Government, the preventive and control work against the epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) have been carried out in an orderly and effective way. To better share information, guide and assist foreign residents in Hainan, the provincial Foreign Affairs Office has been working with Haikou City to release daily epidemic reports in six languages since February 5, making full use of existing technical means including big data and media convergence.

The daily epidemic report, released at the official WeChat account of Hainan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office (海南外事) and other platforms in the six United Nations working languages of Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic and Spanish, and presented in the combination of text, graphics and audio, covers updated national and provincial information of the epidemic, authoritative prevention and control measures and related policies, the list of designated hospitals across the province, and traffic information including aviation, railway and port.

According to the Foreign Affairs Office of Haikou City, there are currently more than 4,000 permanent foreign residents in the city. Allowing foreign friends to quickly and easily obtain the latest information is of great significance not only to the joint prevention and control of the epidemic in the province, but also to the promotion of internationalization of Hainan in accelerating the construction of free trade port.
