According to Hainan Provincial Health Commission, 11 cases of novel coronavirus infection were confirmed on February 5, with 4 new severe cases, 0 death, 1 new case relieved from severe condition, 1 new case discharged from hospital. 8 of the new confirmed cases were reported to be in Sanya, 2 in Danzhou, 1 in Dongfang. Among the new severe cases, 1 in Sanya, 1 in Wanning, 1 in Dongfang, and 1 in Ding'an. Sanya saw 1 new case relieved from severe condition and 1 new case discharged from hospital.

As of 24:00 on February 5, Hainan has reported a total of 100 confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus, 14 severe cases, 1 death and 5 cases discharged from hospital. Among the confirmed cases, 16 cases were in Haikou, 30 in Sanya, 10 in Danzhou, 1 in Wenchang, 6 in Qionghai, 11 in Wanning, 3 in Dongfang, 4 in Chengmai, 5 in Lingao, 4 in Lingshui, 1 in Qiongzhong, 3 in Ding'an County, 3 in Changjiang County, 1 in Ledong County and 1 in Baoting.

As of midnight on February 5, 2198 people who had close contact with infected patients have been traced. A total of 1183 people were released from medical observation, while 1,015 are still under medical observation.
