Since the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus in China, the overseas communication officers of Hainan International Media Center living in Hainan and abroad are concerned about it and have been contributing to the worldwide epidemic prevention work in different ways.
“We must do what we can do and what we should do!”
"Please line up to get our masks in an orderly manner,"said the volunteer. On the early morning of January 26, many residents in Haikou came to the Chimac restaurant and pub in Guomao ran by David Chon (USA), who is also one of the Overseas Communication Officers of Hainan International Media Center, to line up and collect free masks. Organized by David and other volunteers, each resident can get 2 masks, and a total of 6,000 free masks were handed out quickly.
According to David, the slogan motto of this campaign is “Wuhan is Us”, which encourages everyone to participate in the epidemic prevention work.
“Not only do we need to distribute the masks for free, we also need to teach everyone how to use masks correctly,” David said that 6,000 masks were purchased by himself and one of his friends who lived in Hainan. The volunteers who participated in the event included foreign friends and Chinese students.
“We must do something we can do and we should do, we can win this battle,” David said proudly.
