Hainan's offshore duty-free sales hit a record high on the New Year's Day

During New Year's Day in 2020, Hainan's offshore duty-free sales hit a record high. According to statistics from Haikou Customs on January 2, the Customs supervised 70,100 offshore duty-free goods, along with the shoppers of 17,100 person-times and the sales of 54 million yuan on January 1, up by 35.91%, 47.38% and 19.69% respectively compared to those on the New Year's Day in 2019.

The relevant person in charge of the Port Supervision Office of Haikou Customs said that in order to do a good job of supervision services, Haikou Customs learned about the stocking requirements of enterprises in advance, well arranged the post-setting and staffing, fully utilized the advantages of the supervision model of "technology + system + labor", and made use of the duty free policy, supervision system, intelligent alarm system and other equipment and facilities, in a bid to realize the whole process supervision of duty-free imports, storage, sale, distribution and offshore procedure.

In addition, Haikou Customs puts publicity materials about the offshore duty-free policies and shopping process at major places such as airport’s quarantine zone, port quarantine zone and duty-free shops, and arranges business backbone to provide service for the tourists on the site, with the aim to ensure the smooth operation of offshore duty-free business.
