On August 15, 2019, young leaders of the 7th ASEAN-China Young Leaders Exchange Festival (ACYLEF) visited the Binglanggu Li & Miao Cultural Heritage Park in Baoting, Hainan Province.

The festival is jointly organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the China-ASEAN Association and the Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province.

Lin Shaobin, a young leader from Malaysia, said that this is a new experience for him to participate in this exchange festival.

“I’ve experienced the local ethnic customs here such as the life of Li and Miao nationality and their histories and cultures, which I’ve never seen in Malaysia. It’s a great experience and a worthwhile trip for me,” he said.

Dinh Gia Han, a student from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine Vietnam, said that she is very honored to attend this festival, which can promote the communication between the young leaders from different Asian countries.

“I hope there will be more and more this kind of activities in the future, to establish a platform for us to enhance communication and our friendship,” she said.

The performance also left an impression on the young leaders from ASEAN countries. Mina from Laos said: “We can feel the life of Li and Miao nationality through the show, and I’m surprised that although there are a lot of actors and actresses, they did a very good team work, I’m very grateful for being invited to join this activity!”

“This is my first time to visit Hainan, which is very beautiful, it has natural environment and fresh air. This exchange festival gives me the chance to communicate with other young leaders from ASEAN countries. We can know the cultural differences and exchange our opinions,” said Narith, a youth representative from Cambodia.
