From May 27, the renewal of residence permits, the change of registration information, the loss or damage and replacement of residence permits services in Haikou can all be handled on the Haikou Municipal Public Security Bureau's official WeChat platform “Yecheng Police-Citizens Link” (Yecheng Jingmintong).
 
Based on the platform “Yecheng Police-Citizens Link”, Haikou police continues to put forward a series of “no meeting” approval service measures, including household administration, traffic control , net-police, and public security. In July 2018, it launched the online residence registration service. Then it proposed the online residence permits application service in January 2019. Therefore, Haikou police can expand other online businesses of residence permits through the WeChat platform. In addition, Haikou police will also put self-service machines into operation in the near future, thus, the renewal of residence permits can also be handled on these machines.

Haikou police said that more high quality service measures will be taken in the future to solve  problems which are difficult to handle, slow to handle, inconvenient to handle and so on, so that the people will have more direct and real feelings of access.
