On April 13, 2018, China announced a decision to support its southernmost island province of Hainan in developing the whole island into a pilot free trade zone, and gradually exploring and steadily promoting the establishment of a free trade port (FTP) with Chinese characteristics.

Over the past five years, the rapid development of the FTP is making Hainan into a paradigm of reform and opening up across all of China. This is represented by its improving business environment, its rapid foreign trade growth, its thriving duty-free retail market, and many other areas of high-quality development.

Check out some noteworthy “numbers” in the following posters and get a glimpse into the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port over the past five years.
