Hainan Covid-19 updates for August 19

Since August 1, swift and effective measures have been taken to fight the Covid-19 outbreaks in South China’s Hainan Province, with nearly 20,000 medical workers from 20 provinces and regions across the country assisting the island province. Following are some of the latest updates for pandemic prevention and control across the island.

Covid test results for August 18 were all negative in Haikou, Qiongzhong, and Baisha.

On August 18, a tenth round of Covid testing was conducted in the main urban area of Haikou City, and a total of 2,308,917 test samples were collected. As of 6:30 on the 19th, all the results were negative.

Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County launched a fifth round of Covid testing across the county this Thursday. The results of the 181,787 test samples were all negative.

Meanwhile, a fifth round of county-wide nucleic acid testing was carried out in Baisha Li Autonomous County on August 18, with a total of 151,790 test samples collected. These test results were also all negative.

Haikou and Wuzhishan Cities lifted temporary static management on August 19.

Due to the all negative results of the 10th round Covid-19 test carried out in the main urban area of Haikou City on August 18, temporary static management in the city was ended at 1:00 AM. on August 19. Each city district will conduct Covid testing in key areas. Wuzhishan City ended temporary static management at 0:00 on August 19 and normal activities were allowed to resume. Public places may be entered with a Covid test result.

Haikou adds two hotlines for stranded passengers​

To further assist travelers stranded in Haikou, in addition to the Haikou 12345 hotline and the two 24-hour hotlines previously established, two additional hotlines are now available.
