According to PipeChina Hainan Branch, 1,094,700 tons of natural gas was delivered to cities and counties in 2021, an increase of 3.67% year-on-year.

PipeChina Hainan Natural Gas Company delivered 1,094,700 tons of natural gas in 2021, an increase of 38,800 tons and a growth rate of 3.67% compared to 2020. Among which, the supply on the island was 707,500 tons, up 32%. The introduction of the China National Petroleum Corporation ShennanShipperpromoted the steady increase of the liquid tanker business, with an annual transport volume of 120,400 tons, up 16.67% year-on-year; the annual volume of the transshipment outside the island was 390,000 tons.

“As a low-carbon clean energy, especially with China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, natural gas can intermittently complement new energy resources such as solar energy,” said Liu Guangcai, secretary of the CPC Party Committee of PipeChina Hainan Natural Gas Co., Ltd.　

The Hainan Liquefied Natural Gas Project is a key energy project in Hainan, which makes full use of foreign energy, introduces imported natural gas, and delivers clean energy to Hainan. At present, the import terminal has an annual natural gas receiving capacity of 3 million tons and an annual pipeline gas capacity of 3.8 billion cubic meters.
