Haikou Meilan International Airport has upgraded the nucleic acid testing and waiting areas for passengers coming from epidemic-related places.
The nucleic acid testing and waiting area are under the viaduct directly opposite the No.1 entrance of the arrival hall on the first floor of Terminal T1. A partition separates the two parts, integrating windscreen and isolation. The area also perfects the functional division of the waiting section, including the query, dining, and viewing areas. The capacity is expanded up to 600 people at a time.
“We provide some caring services in the waiting area, including warm drinks and ginger tea. Inexpensive supermarkets were also set up for tourists, with charging station and movie-watching areas. Meanwhile, we have prepared more than 100 rooms in the hotel,” said Zhang Liping from Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters of Haikou Meilan International Airport.
In order to shorten the waiting time, the airport has also built a nucleic acid detection PCR laboratory. With at most two and a half hours, passengers can get the results. In addition, a 24-hour intelligent monitoring screen displays information such as flights from affected areas, the number of people testing and waiting. Passengers can reasonably estimate their waiting time through the screen.
Zhang Liping stated that Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters will improve our service as the affected area continues to change, and increase the staff for guidance and nucleic acid testing.
