On the evening of September 27–after 13 days of competition–the 14th National Games in Shaanxi Province’s Xi’an concluded. Over the course of these Games, the delegation from Hainan harvested 4 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze. These are Hainan’s best results since becoming a province.

The players who won medals for Hainan include Bi Kun (Gold - Men's Windsurfing RS:X Class), Huang Yingying (Gold - Women's Short Board), Qiu Zhuo (Gold - Men's Short Board), Yuan Yechun (Gold, Men's Individual Golf), Huang Yige (Silver - Men's Short Board), Gao Pan (Silver - Women's Taekwondo 67kg+ Weight Class), and the Wang Weidong/Xie Jinlian and Fu Qian/Deng Daokun pairs (Bronze - Mixed Team 470 Class Long Distance Sailing). The Hainan Provincial Windsurfing team also took home the Organizing Committee’s Moral and Ethics award.

At this year’s Games, the Hainan beach volleyball team made a historic breakthrough with the Men's and Women's teams both breaking into the top 4 standings in the adult group and eventually taking 4th place.  This was also the first National Games for Hainan’s youth women's beach volleyball team to enter the top 4; they also took 4th. In their respective competitions, the men’s golf team took 4th and the women's golf team took 5th. In track and field, Hainanese athlete Zhou Jingjing took 8th in the Women’s Heptathlon.

Hainan's Bi Kun won the gold medal in Men's Windsurfing RS: X Class at the National Games.

Hainan's Qiu Zhuo won the Men's Short Board Championship at the National Games.

Hainan's Huang Yingying won the Women's Short Board Championship at the National Games.
