On January 13th, the opening ceremony of the 1st batch of 2021 projects for the Hainan Free Trade Port construction was held at the main venue in Haikou, the provincial capital city of Hainan. A total of 139 projects are included, with a total investment of 41.9 billion yuan. 38% are industrial development projects, 40% are infrastructure projects, and 22% are public service projects.

Since the release of the Master Plan for the Construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port in June, 2020, Hainan has signed contracts in even numbered months and begun construction projects in odd numbered months for each batch of Hainan Free Trade Port construction projects. By the end of 2020, Hainan had begun a total of 534 projects, with a total investment of 172.48 billion yuan.
