Given the COVID-19 situation in Qingdao, Shandong, the Hainan Center for Disease Control and Prevention notifies the public of the following matters.

Screening for COVID-19 is required for those arriving in Hainan who have traveled through or stayed in Qingdao after September 27. Arrivals should call the County Prevention and Control Headquarters advisory hotline (see the attached file below) to report relevant information.

  • For arrivals who have tested negative on the nucleic acid test within the seven days prior to arrival in Hainan and hold a “green” health code, free movement with proper protective measures is allowed.

- Travelers without valid negative nucleic acid test certification should take a nucleic acid tests , which wil be arranged by the local citiy or county. After testing negative, 14-day medical self-observation (from the date of arrival) is required. The self-observation can be carried out during normal activities, and does not mean that the traveler must self-isolate or stay in a central isolation facility during the self-observation period. However, travelers must report immediately if they experience any fever, cough, or other symptoms of COVID-19.

Please pay close attention to the contact tracing information released by Qingdao. Protective measures including wearing mask, maintaining social distance, cleaning and disinfecting the home regularly, and avoiding non-essential travel are highly suggested. If any close contact shows  any symptoms of Covid-19, seek medical advice and follow your local health authority's guidance carefully.
