The first batch of plastic ban list was released. The reporter learned from the Ecological Environment Department of Hainan Province on March 22 that the department recently announced that the "List of First-time Non-degradable Plastic Products Prohibited from Sale and Use in Hainan Province" (hereinafter referred to as the "List") has been released. The government agrees that it will be implemented from December 1, 2020.
The "List" initially includes two types of disposable non-degradable plastic products such as plastic film bags and tableware into the scope of plastic ban list. And it explicitly bans the types of disposable non-degradable plastic products produced, sold and used in the form of a negative list.
The "List" also specifically specified the materials: Disposable films and bags of non-biodegradable containing polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), and polyethylene glycol terephthalate (PET) are prohibited. And other non-biodegradable polymer tableware with polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are prohibited.
