China's First 5G Mobile Substation Successfully Delivers Power
On June 4th, the 110 kV 5G mobile substation of the Hainan Power Grid Company, an affiliate of the China Southern Power Grid, was successfully connected to the 110 kV Guilinyang Station and delivered power, increasing the power supply capacity of the Guilinyang Station by about 30%. This is the first time that China uses a 5G network to achieve wireless access to mobile substations, and marked the first attempt of a complete set of 110 kV mobile substations that has been applied in Hainan.
Xie Hongtao, a Deputy Manager of the Hainan Power Grid announced, “This time, we use 5G technology to realize the communication service access of the mobile substation, shortening from the original 20 hours to less than two hours. This is the first complete application of the 110kV mobile substation in the Hainan power grid.”

Hainan Takes Multiple Measures to Ensure Power Supply for Gaokao
During the Gaokao, cities and counties of Hainan stay alert to ensure sufficient power supply. The Hainan Power Grid Company has rolled out a first-level power supply guarantee plan. At present, the company has inspected power stability at all 41 test venues in 18 districts in the province. Among them, Haikou has carried out several rounds of inspections on key places, and arranged personnel to be on duty around the clock.
Chen Yue, a Deputy Manager of the Haikou Power Supply Bureau said, “We have also set up 28 emergency repair teams of 540 people. During the exam, we will arrange for these teams to be on duty nearby, and the emergency vehicles have also been maintained.”

Hainan Eases Charging Anxiety with One App
In May, the Hainan Power Charging and Swapping Service Co., Ltd was established in Haikou. The supporting service platform was also launched, solving the core issues including low utilization rate of charging piles and inconsistent payment methods. Using only one APP, NEVs can now charge their cars at every city and county in Hainan.
“We integrated island-wide statistical data, which will be of great help for the research and release of charging models and battery-swap products in the future,” said Chen Kaiwu, Account Manager of the GAC AION Hainan Dealer.
