Beijing registered two new confirmed COVID-19 cases and one asymptomatic infection linked to outbreaks elsewhere in China on August 1st.

The three patients are from the same household and they returned to Beijing from the city of Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province. They had travelled in Sanya from July 28 to July 30.

Here is their travel history from July 28 to July 30 in Sanya:

At 10:15 am on July 28, the family took Chang 'an Airlines Flight 9H8411 from Huaihua Zhijiang Airport in Hunan province to Sanya Phoenix International Airport. After their arrival at around 12:10, the Sanya Phoenix International Airport took normal epidemic prevention and control measures, including temperature and health code checks, before releasing all passengers. Then, they rented a car (Qiong A372lP) on the 3rd floor of the airport parking garage and drove to Yalong Bay Mangrove Tree Resort where they checked in at 14:02, and stayed for the rest of the day.

On the morning of July 29th, the family took the elevator to the restaurant for breakfast. Later, two of them went to the seaside through the lobby of Horizon Resort & Spa Phase II and returned to the hotel from the seaside, then stayed in the hotel the rest of the day.

On the morning of July 30, they took the elevator to the restaurant for breakfast, but did not leave the hotel until checking out at around 15:00. They then drove to a Sinopec gas station near Yalong Bay at around 16:00. After having their temperature and health code checked at 18:15, they returned Beijing on China Southern Airlines flight CZ8804 which departed Sanya Phoenix International Airport and arrived Beijing Daxing International Airport at 22:30.

Currently the hotel where the confirmed cases stayed is under control. All  staff and guests of the hotel have taken nucleic acid tests and the results were all negative. Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Yalong Bay Mangrove Tree Resort, and the vehicles used by the confirmed cases have been completely sterilized. Meanwhile the Sanya government is carrying out an epidemiological investigation with the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control to track 215 close contacts of the confirmed cases who were on the same flight or in the same location.
