In recent years, the incidence rate of coronary heart disease in China has remained high. Clinical demand is increasing for a scaffold that can not only effectively relieve coronary occlusion, but also avoid permanent retention. Now, innovative bioabsorbable magnesium alloy stents can bring more clinical benefits to patients with coronary heart disease, especially young patients.

Magmaris is made from a proprietary magnesium alloy that can be completely converted in the body into magnesium ions, which are then either absorbed by surrounding tissues or excreted.
Compared with the absorbable stents made of polylactic acid that are currently on the market in China, Magmaris provides better support for the diseased tissue. 95% of the stent can be absorbed within 12 months, compared to the 24-36 months it takes for polylactic acid biodegradable stent absorption. This faster absorption time effectively reduces the risk of late stent thrombosis, a major complication associated with stent placement in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Magmaris, the world's first absorbable metal stent, has been marketed and used clinically in more than 50 countries and regions around the world since its CE mark approval in 2016.
The Boao Super Hospital’s Cardiology Department has completed more than 20 first clinical product applications in China, including the LEQVIO ® (an injection treatment that may help lower bad cholesterol), Micra Pacemakers, and OPTIMIZER Smart (a cardiac contractility modulation therapy used to treat severe chronic heart failure), bringing ever more advanced medical treatment to patients in China.
