
In 2009, "Mazu Belief and Custom" was listed as the World Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, becoming the first world heritage of belief and customs in China. Mazu's belief and customs are not only an important part of Hainan's cultural context but also a crucial link for overseas Hainan Chinese to help and protect each other and remain their hometown friendship in a foreign soil. Episode 2 of "Cultural Vein of Hainan (Haikou Chapter)" takes you on a journey to discover the essence and evolution of Mazu culture.
