At 14:30 on September 16, the State Council Information Office of PRC held a special press conference about Hainan in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Liu Cigui, Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial People's Congress, Shen Xiaoming, Deputy secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and Governor of Hainan provincial government, and Shen Danyang, Vice governor of Hainan provincial government delivered relative speeches with the theme of “Comprehensively deepening the reform and opening up, and accelerating the construction of a new Hainan”. And they also answered questions asked by journalists.

An on-site exhibition was also held to demonstrate the development achievements of Hainan on celebrating PRC's 70th anniversary.

In addition, another news conference was held by the State Council Information Office on the same day, focusing on the “Implementation plan to support the construction of Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Area”.

Leaders from the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Health Commission, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the National Medical Products Administration and the responsible personnel from Hainan provincial government also introduced the content of the Implementation Plan in details and answered to reporters’ questions.
