Hainan has officially unveiled the logo and mascot for the province’s 8th Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities. During a press briefing in Haikou on September 8, organizers announced that the event is set to run from October 16 to 21 in Lingshui Li Autonomous County.
The event will feature 1,382 athletes in 20 delegations from fourteen cities and counties province-wide. Competitors will face off in thirteen traditional sports including dragon boat racing, crossbow archery, single-bamboo water racing, and palm tree climbing, along with events like pearl ball (a basketball-like sport utilizing handheld nets), Cuqiu (traditional foot-billiards), elephant tug-of-war, shuttlecock kicking, top spinning, three-legged wooden plank racing, stilt racing, ethnic martial arts, and ethnic aerobics—plus one exhibition event.

The official event logo takes the form of a dynamic, flowing ribbon in the shape of a stylized number eight, marking the event's eighth edition. The interlaced colors represent the unity and cultural blending of Hainan's diverse ethnic groups. Fusing traditional Li brocade patterns with a running stance, the logo utilizes a vibrant gradient of orange, rose red, purple, and blue to showcase the island's marine culture and regional charm.

Meet "Wodudu," the Games' golden, chubby mascot. The figure was inspired by the pufferfish—a marine species commonly found in Lingshui's waters. Designed to align with the county's local branding, Wodudu sports geometric patterns from traditional Li brocade. The character's cheerful, rounded look perfectly balances local heritage with a sporty, energetic vibe.
