On July 22, the 2026 Thailand-China Cooperation Expo (TCCE) opened at Challenger Hall in Bangkok's IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center. Attending the event is a trade and economic delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hainan Provincial Committee, which is exhibiting at the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) Pavilion. Their aim is to help Hainan businesses explore new opportunities in China-Thailand collaboration and expand into ASEAN markets.

This year's TCCE, themed “Investing for the Future, Growing Together,” covers 20,000 square meters and showcases ten key industrial sectors, including food and agriculture, healthcare, green energy, and innovation technologies. Multiple Thai government agencies have set up one-stop investment consultation centers at the venue to offer policy guidance and investment advice to exhibitors from around the world. Meanwhile, Hainan has set up a dedicated pavilion that highlights the advantages of the FTP’s special customs operations, its industrial strengths, and promising opportunities for cooperation with Thailand.

As tropical coastal economies, Hainan and Thailand share similar geographic and climatic conditions and highly complementary resources and industries, providing a strong basis for economic and trade collaboration. Recently, bilateral trade has grown steadily across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing. Numerous Hainan companies have set up offices or processing facilities in Thailand, establishing stable cross-border production and distribution networks. With support from the Hainan FTP and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), industrial and supply chain cooperation is expected to accelerate.

The Hainan pavilion brings together 12 key enterprises from five sectors: healthcare, tropical specialty foods, tropical agriculture, advanced new materials, and cross-border trade. They are presenting products and integrated solutions customized for the Thai and wider ASEAN markets.

Among the materials offerings on show by Hainan enterprises, Jinghe Haifei (Hainan) Health Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is showcasing recombinant collagen medical dressings and cellular health management products. Hainan Nanguo Food Co., Ltd., Hainan Feinuo Food Co., Ltd., Ding’an Awo’o Food Technology Co., Ltd., and Hainan Zhengyu Edible Bird’s Nest Industry Co., Ltd. are each presenting coconut-based processed foods, ready meals featuring Hainan’s cultural delicacy zaopocu, bird’s nest, and other specialty items. HSF Tropical Agriculture Industry Group Co., Ltd. is showcasing tropical agricultural products, including Baisha green tea, coffee, and pepper. Meanwhile, Hainan Free Trade Zone Dehang Group Co., Ltd. is highlighting cross-border trade products and services via its integrated international supply chain platform.

Since the exhibition opened, numerous Thai officials, companies, and professional buyers have visited the Hainan pavilion, commenting warmly on its design and displays. Visitors explored the company booths to learn about product technologies, export standards, supply methods, and partnership opportunities, with many expressing keen interest in Hainan’s high-tech sectors, tropical foods, regenerative medicine, and ecological agriculture. Some even engaged in preliminary business talks with exhibitors and agreed to explore further cooperation.

The CCPIT Hainan Provincial Committee arranged for participating companies to participate in various business support events, such as seminars on Thailand’s investment policies and on customs and tax compliance. These sessions helped companies gain a clearer understanding of Thailand’s industrial environment and market entry criteria. Additionally, businesses engaged in targeted B2B matchmaking sessions, meeting individually with Thai buyers and distributors to discuss potential partnerships in areas like food distribution, healthcare, eco-friendly packaging, infrastructure cables, and cross-border agriculture.

The CCPIT Hainan Provincial Committee will continue to track cooperation intentions reached during the expo to help push them toward tangible results. It also intends to leverage Thailand’s position in ASEAN to better enable Hainan enterprises to regularly participate in regional exhibitions and establish a sustainable platform for cross-border trade and economic collaboration. This initiative aims to help Hainan FTP businesses integrate more effectively into regional industrial chains, fostering mutually beneficial cooperation and shared growth among Hainan, Thailand, and other ASEAN nations.
