Travel between Hainan and Indonesia is about to get a major upgrade.

Starting from June 6, scheduled services between Haikou Meilan International Airport (HAK) and Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) will increase to six flights per week, enhancing connectivity between the Hainan Free Trade Port and the ASEAN region.

Hainan Airlines operates Boeing 737 aircraft on the Haikou-Jakarta route.

Operated by Hainan Airlines using Boeing 737 aircraft, the route has been a consistent crowd-pleaser, boasting an average passenger load factor of over 80%. The service will expand from its current four-times-weekly schedule (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays) to near-daily service, operating every day except Wednesdays.

Flight Schedule (Local Times):

Outbound (HU701): Departs HAK at 14:30 (GMT +8); arrives CGK at 18:10 (GMT +7).

Inbound (HU702): Departs Jakarta CGK at 19:15 (GMT+7); arrives in Haikou HAK at 01:05 (GMT+8) the following day.

Thanks to Hainan’s visa-free policy and tropical appeal, Indonesia has become a key source market for inbound tourism. To sweeten the deal, Hainan has launched a 5-million-yuan inbound flight voucher pool running until August 30.

International travelers booking round-trip flights to Haikou or Sanya via Trip.com can snap up a CNY 400 discount on bookings of CNY 1,600 or more. This deal applies to tourists from seven Southeast Asian nations (Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia), Japan, South Korea, the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China, and Taiwan, China.
