On April 13, the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) and the 2026 "Shopping in China" International Consumption Season officially kicked off in Haikou, Hainan. Scheduled from April 13 to 18, the Expo is centered at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center. It features eight major exhibition halls and brings together over 3,400 brands from more than 60 countries and regions worldwide, showcasing premium new products in sectors such as green, health, digital, and smart consumption. Additionally, sub-venues for international yachts in Sanya and international health consumption in Qionghai debuted simultaneously, highlighting the unique charm of the Asia-Pacific region's largest consumer boutique exhibition.

At the event, international exhibitors showed immense enthusiasm. He Xiaomei, Executive President of the Canada Hainan Business Association (CHBA), noted that the preferential policies of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), such as those regarding value-added trade, are highly attractive, making Hainan an ideal frontier to bring Canada's abundant resources closer to the Chinese market. Benitez Matias from Uruguay emphasized that China and Uruguay have cooperated for nearly 40 years; Uruguay will continue to optimize its products to meet Chinese demand and leverage new FTP policies to actively integrate into the "Hainan Rhythm" and expand business cooperation. Another representative from a Canadian travel agency praised Hainan's superior environment, stating that while they brought no physical products this time, their goal is to promote North American tourism resources and strengthen exchange and cooperation between the two sides' tourism industries. The CICPE is becoming a vital window for the world to share the opportunities presented by China's opening-up.
