Last year, China's R&D investment approached 4 trillion yuan. Notably, over 280 billion yuan went specifically to basic research, with its share exceeding 7% for the first time. This marks a critical shift: China is moving from "applied innovation" into the "deep waters" of original innovation.

In this global race for the future, the Hainan Free Trade Port is playing a unique role as the "proving ground" for China's technological "super engine." While green power now accounts for nearly 4 out of every 10 kilowatt-hours consumed across China, this island has already turned "future industries" into "present realities."

In 2025, Hainan's green power trading volume exceeded 10 billion kilowatt-hour for the first time. Major international events like the Boao Forum for Asia and the China International Consumer Products Expo are now 100% powered by green energy. Meanwhile, in the realm of space exploration, the Hainan Commercial Spacecraft Launch Site has completed nine launches since its maiden flight in November 2024. This January, the Long March-8A rocket successfully deployed 18 satellites in a single mission, accelerating the construction of the Spacesail Constellation. With over 700 aerospace companies gathered here, China's commercial space industry has officially entered the era of "mass production."

On March 7, during the Hainan delegation's "Open Day" at the 2026 Two Sessions, Feng Fei, Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, officially outlined the island’s future through the "45432" modern industrial system. He demonstrated to the world that Hainan is not just a tropical paradise—it is a premier incubator for New Quality Productive Forces.
