Hainan to achieve near-universal continuation of education for junior high graduates, with 70% entering general academic high schools

On January 27, the Fifth Session of the Seventh Hainan Provincial People's Congress officially opened. The government work report proposed adding 40,000 new public school places in basic education, improving the conditions of boarding junior high schools in townships, and achieving near-universal continuation of education for junior high graduates, with 70% entering general senior high schools. The report also proposed that all primary and secondary schools set up foundational AI liberal courses, and that 60% of public primary and secondary schools be brought under a grouped (cluster-based) school management system.
