Lingshui is set to open a new coastal scenic road to traffic in February, adding a scenic new stretch to Hainan’s 18°N coastline.

The palm-lined road, located at the river mouth, runs along the coast on a viaduct. A key part of this project, the Ganghou Bridge connecting Binhe North Shuikouling Ridge and Chunlan Xiangshui Station, has already been finished.

The route is 1,016 meters long and designed to integrate coastal scenery with nearby cultural and natural landmarks. Built with an investment of about 75 million yuan, the road meets the Class III highway standards, with two lanes and a 30 km/h speed limit, encouraging a slower, more relaxed drive.

Once open, the road itself becomes part of the journey. On one side, rows of coconut palms line the shore; on the other, the sea opens up toward the horizon, where waves blend into the sky. Designated scenic overlooks along the route allow travelers to stop, feel the ocean breeze, and enjoy the coastal views.

More than just a transport link, the road connects cultural heritage sites, ecological areas, and seaside landscapes, improving access between the Lingshui River corridor and the Xiangshui Bay area and offering a fresh way to explore Lingshui’s coastal charm.
