Hainan Through Culture Ep. 1: The New Year Approaches

Above the turquoise sea, waves have spent millennia carving the island's contours. Amid the coconut breeze, stories of ancestry are whispered. As the moon in Su Dongpo's poetry still shines over Danzhou, as the fishing songs of the Tanka people continue to echo in the harbors, and as the bricks and stones of the Qilou Historical and Cultural Quarter still bear the marks of journeys to Southeast Asia, Hainan, an island embraced by the blue, waits to tell its stories.

Jointly produced by the Hainan Integrated Media Center and the Hainan International Media Center, together with the School of Journalism, Communication, and Film and Television of Hainan Normal University and the AIGC Integrated International Communication Institute, "Hainan Through Culture" utilizes AI to unlock the deeper cultural mysteries of Hainan. It brings to life the three-thousand-year patterns of Li brocade, the ancient melodies of Lingao fishing songs, century-old streets long veiled by time, and the stories embedded in the 24 solar terms.

Here, every frame is a gaze into the past, and every camera click a dialogue with the future. Join us in this tapestry of memories and touch the spiritual genes that have shaped Hainan.
