In this episode of Free Trade Port - Open Mic, we have invited Ghanaian scholar Justice Norvienyeku, an associate professor at Hainan University, to discuss the special customs operations of the Hainan Free Trade Port. As an expert specializing in tropical plants, he focuses on the impact of the FTP special customs operations on scientific research. His research often requires importing scientific materials such as seedlings and plant specimens from around the world. The FTP special customs operations are expected not only to streamline the entry process for these resources, but also grant researchers greater operational flexibility. This will remove barriers to the cross-border flow of resources, facilitating research into the interaction between pathogenic bacteria and their tropical plant hosts.
Having worked in Hainan for many years, Norvienyeku said that the research facilities here have clear advantages. FTP special customs operations will further cement Hainan's status as a ‘testing ground’ for new policies, widening the scope of scientific research. He also plans to tell his relatives and friends in Ghana about the special customs operations of the FTP and how they affect science, investment, and the environment, in hopes that more people will see the cooperation potential of Hainan. In this episode, listen as Norvienyeku offers a cross-cultural perspective on how the special customs operations will empower agricultural scientific research and international cooperation in the Hainan Free Trade Port.
