The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is scheduled to commence in Shanghai on November 5, with Hainan poised to make a strong presence during the six-day event.

Among the island province's arrangements for the CIIE is the Hainan Pavilion, which will host an exhibition and a range of cultural exchange activities. The pavilion, spanning a whopping 360 square meters, is situated in the city's "Meeting Lounge" exhibition area and aims to become a highlight of the Expo. Featuring dedicated exhibition zones for policies and cultural artefacts, it will showcase the history of Hainan's cultural and economic exchanges, urban stories, local customs, and the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Hainan will also highlight its achievements in the China Pavilion located in the "Country Exhibition" area, including the development of new quality productive forces through leveraging five key strengths, the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo, bonded maintenance services, and more. A video centered on island-wide special customs operations, set to launch on December 18 this year, will showcase the accomplishments of the Hainan Free Trade Port's development to date.

A large trade delegation from Hainan will also be present, comprising more than 1,150 exhibitors and 350 organizations.

The delegation, organized by the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province, includes representatives from provincial agencies, city and county governments, key industrial parks, the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, business associations, enterprises, and institutions. The total number attending includes sub-delegations from Haikou, Sanya, and Danzhou.

The delegation is tasked with actively engaging in investment promotion and opening up new global procurement channels during the CIIE. In addition to attending the opening ceremony of the Import Expo and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, the Hainan trade delegation will also visit the exhibition booths of key exhibitors such as Boston Scientific, Swire Group, Estée Lauder, GE Healthcare, and Fosun Pharma, actively promoting economic and trade investment cooperation with Hainan and inviting them to participate in the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo next year.
