The newly launched Tbilisi–Sanya–Milan international cargo route marks the successful opening of Sanya’s fifth fifth-freedom scheduled cargo route to Europe. This milestone not only extends the city’s global cargo network but also injects fresh momentum into building Sanya into a national air logistics hub.
Operated by Georgian Airways with a Boeing 767-300 freighter capable of carrying up to 50 tons per flight, the new route focuses on cross-border e-commerce logistics and duty-free goods. Outbound flights from Sanya mainly transport e-commerce products, while inbound flights carry duty-free commodities. With two flights scheduled each week, the service provides enterprises with a reliable and efficient “air logistics corridor.”
Industry experts note that he new route will significantly enhance the efficient two-way flow of cross-border e-commerce goods, duty-free products, and premium consumer goods between Sanya and Europe. It represents an important step in strengthening the “Air Silk Road” logistics corridor, accelerating Sanya’s progress toward becoming a national air logistics hub, and supporting the Hainan Free Trade Port’s deeper integration into global supply chains.
