There are more and more duty-free shopping locations open to local residents all across the Hainan Free Trade Port. Following the opening of the first five daily use consumer product duty free shops this Spring Festival, seven new locations have now been announced for Haikou, Sanya, Danzhou, Wenchang, Qionghai, Wanning, and Chengmai. Two of the new shops, located in Sanya and Wenchang, are already open, and the other five are slated to open soon.

The new outlets bring duty-free shopping to locals in Wenchang, Qionghai, Wanning, and Chengmai for the first time. Along with existing stores in Haikou, Sanya, and Danzhou, the retail network will now extend to seven major cities and counties on Hainan Island. All stores are located in core commercial urban areas making it convenient for local residents to purchase imported daily use consumer products.

Chinese residents holding a Hainan ID card, residence permit, or social security card, and foreign nationals with legal residency documents who work and live in Hainan.

How to shop:

Shoppers can pick up purchases immediately after verifying personal ID information on site. The annual duty-free shopping quota per person is RMB 10,000, with no limit on the number of total purchases. The policy covers 202 product categories, mainly high-frequency daily use consumer goods such as food and beverages, cleaning products, maternal and infant products, and household goods.
