The African screening tour of the Chinese revolutionary film My Ma'an Ling officially kicked off on June 29 at the Confucius Institute of Hassan II University in Morocco, marking its first public screening on the African continent.

Inspired by the true stories of the "Red Detachment of Women" during the liberation struggle on Hainan Island, the film portrays revolutionary heroes‘ unwavering ideals, deep devotion to the people, and relentless pursuit of a brighter future—values that resonate powerfully with African nations’ own historic journeys toward independence, development, and hope.

On July 2, local time, coinciding with the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the film was screened at the Confucius Institute of Mohammed V University in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. The event drew a full house. Many Moroccan viewers were moved to tears by the fearless sacrifice and revolutionary spirit of the Chinese martyrs, and gave the film a long standing ovation. Ms. Dai Xiaoqi, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, remarked that the successful screening marked a meaningful step forward in Sino-Moroccan cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

From July 8 to 10, the tour extended to the overseas project sites of several Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) across Morocco. Special screenings were held successively for the project teams of China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group, CEEC Gezhouba Group, and China National Building Material Equipment Group’s Morocco Regional Center. Members of the Chinese medical team aiding Morocco also attended. Overseas engineers, construction workers, and medical staff shared that the film's themes of loyalty, perseverance, and dedication closely mirror their own mission as Belt and Road practitioners—working far from home, staying committed to their duties, and serving local communities with sincerity.
