On July 16 and 17, an Indonesian media delegation visit to the Hainan Free Trade Port’s cities of Haikou and Danzhou provided members with first-hand experience of the positive changes which have taken place since the province began its island-wide special customs operations in December of last year.
Teguh Santosa (Indonesia Cyber Media Association president) said that: "for Indonesia, Hainan is the closest Chinese port," and that commodities traded between the two sides are creating many opportunities. He also noted how Hainan balances development with ecological protection, and commented on how he hopes to see deeper cooperation between Hainanese and Indonesian young people in terms of trade, the digital economy, and cultural cooperation.
