The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hainan Provincial Committee has announced that the 2026 Hainan International Coffee Expo is scheduled for August 14 to 16 at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center.

This major event will span over 40,000 square meters and is expected to feature more than 500 exhibitors from China and abroad. It will showcase innovations in the global coffee sector and provide a platform for international networking and business partnerships.

As global coffee consumption continues to grow, Hainan has leveraged the policy benefits and strategic position of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) to speed up international coffee trade and processing. This effort is helping Hainan become a key hub connecting coffee-producing areas with the Chinese market.

Coffee beans from major producing countries, including Brazil, Vietnam, and Colombia, have been introduced to Hainan under the FTP's favorable policies, which include exemptions from import duties and import-related value-added tax on raw materials.

Additionally, the FTP permits processed goods with at least 30% value added to enter the domestic market duty-free. These policies have bolstered Hainan's coffee industry and improved coordination throughout its supply and value chains.

The organizing committee describes this year's expo as an upgrade of the 2025 Hainan International Coffee Conference. With a focus on international cooperation and trade promotion, it will feature dedicated zones for the global coffee sector, domestic brands, Yunnan and Hainan specialty coffees, a coffee carnival market, and themed exhibitions that blend coffee, automobiles, and cultural tourism. The displays will encompass the entire industry chain, including cultivation, processing, equipment, supply networks, cultural and creative products, and consumer experiences.

The expo will host over 10 supporting events, including an international coffee industry summit forum and investment promotion sessions. These events will offer platforms for international buyers, brand owners, and industry companies to enhance collaborations and foster cross-border trade.

To date, more than 430 companies have registered to participate, including those from leading coffee-producing regions across China and over 10 countries such as Russia and Vietnam.
